October 2011
On Saturday 1st October the RPSI ran a 2nd Mystery Train tour, this time to Limerick. Outward traction was provided by 072 and the return trip was worked by 080. The outward trip was photographed at the summit of Ballybrophy Bank, while the return trip was photographed at Hopes Bridge, near Kilmullen.
Also on Saturday I photographed all severn MKIV sets on the Dublin Cork service at various locations in Co. Laois.
Monday 10th October:
Pictures from Portarlington and Killenard featuring 209 working a Ballast Train from Roscommon to North Wall and 4004 on the 0930 Cork - Heuston.
Thursday 20th October:
234 hauled a MKIII EGV from Inchicore to Limerick Jct to turn the van on the triangle, 086 worked a empty panel train from North Wall to Portlaoise and the usual 22000's photographed at Ballykillane and Killenard.
Friday 21st October 2011:
Visited Belfast and managed to photograph and travel on brand new 4003 and 4001 on a trip from Belfast Central to Jordanstown and back again. Also included is a few photographs from Great Victoria Street.
Saturday 22nd October 2011:
One photo from today featuring one of the most impressive sights on the Irish Railway Network; Craigmore Viaduct near Bessbrooke.
Sunday 23rd and Tuesday 25th October 2011:
Various pictures in and around Heuston.
Friday 28th and Saturday 29th:
Pictures from Heuston, the MGWR Line between Newcomen Junction and Druncondra, plus Merrion Gates in South Dublin.
Monday 31st October (Bank Holiday)
In a somewhat unusual move the IWT Liners operated on Bank Holiday Monday 31st October 2011. Reports indicate the train will also run on future Bank Holidays if required. Both trains were photographed. 209 at Cloncoher (Down Train) and 215 at The Curragh (Up Train).

The RPSI ran a 2nd of their Mystery Train Railtours on Saturday 1st October. This time the destination was Limerick and traction for the outward trip from Connolly was provided by 072. The 1030 Connolly - Limerick Special is seen at the summit of Ballybrophy Bank on the outward trip. Sat 01.10.11
