A family trip to Wroclaw, Poland between 31st January and 3rd February 2013. See http://smu.gs/14GB5DY
Tuesday 5th February 2013:
A light covering of snow greeted me on Tuesday so here are a few pictures from Portarlington and one from Portlaoise at lunchtime when the snow had melted.
Friday 8th February 2013:
A very brief visit to Portlaoise Station on Friday afternoon.
Monday 11th - Tuesday 12th February 2013:
A two day visit to Cork and Kerry. Thanks to Finnyus for the lift around East Cork on Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday 14th February 2013:
4003 returns to traffic after overhaul and repainting, complete with the new company logo.
Saturday 23rd February 2013:
A trip on former Midland Great Western Railway metals from Dublin Connolly to Sligo, then by bus to Ballina for the branch train to Manulla Junction for a connecting service to Westport.
Monday 25th February 2013:
Portlaoise Station and a snow moon rising over Portalington.
Tuesday 26th February 2013:
While on a busy visit to Dublin I managed to grab two photos at Busaras and Heuston.
Wednesday 27th February 2013:
The Container Pocket Wagons (CPW's) have been receiving maintenance at Limerick Wagon Works in preparation for the DFDS Liner returning to the railway. The train is planned to operate twice a week each way using the CPW's thus taking them over new ground between Cherryville Jct. and Waterford. The service is scheduled to start in the first week of March. In advance of this the wagons were transferred as the 0910 Limerick - Ballina via Portarlington on Wednesday 27th February 2013. 075 provided the traction and the train is pictured passing Geashill, Co. Offally.
