Monday 2nd January 2017:
One photo from Portumna showing the site of the former station. I hope to do a feature on this line which was only opened for 10 years at some stage in 2017.
Tuesday 3rd January 2017:
We start off the 2017 pictures with a visit to Ratheven outside Portlaoise to photograph 076 hauling failed 234 from Cork to Inchicore plus the usual MKIV and 22000 sets on passenger traffic.
Wednesday 4th January 2017:
Due to a large number of passengers travelling to Limerick this morning on the 1005 Ballybrophy - Limerick service, mostly from Cloughjordan, which was organised by the Nenagh Rail Partnership for their annual outing to "Limerick on Ice" (Ice skating). Iarnrod Eireann decided to allocate the Limerick - Limerick Jct ICR set to the evening Ballybrophy service. I travelled north from Nenagh to Ballybrophy on it.

Monday 9th January 2017:
The day starts off in Limerick before heading to Dublin to see 071 on the 0920 Tara Mines to North Wall laden working.
Wednesday 11th January 2017:
A trip to Dublin this morning. Very handy when needing to go to Connolly to use the Phoenix Park Tunnel services. Pictures from Sallins, Connolly, Malahide and Portarlington.
Tuesday 17th January 2017:
There was considerable disruption to the Westport line after the 1140 Ballina - North Wall IWT Liner failed near Balla Station. It was rescued by 088 and hauled 073 and its train to North Wall.
Thursday 19th January 2017:
A few lunchtime photos from Clonkeen, mainly to see a Mallow - Inchicore trial train.
Friday 20th January 2017:
A varied day today with pictures of an early morning Heineken Ireland Private Charter from Cork to Dublin Heuston and other pictures from Portarlington, Portlaoise, Cork, Mallow and Killarney.

A few pictures from around Killarney and Farranafore and Tralee areas.
Sunday 22nd January 2017:
One photo from Killarney of the 1340 Tralee - Heuston and later at Portarlington to see Belmond liveried 216 working the 1900 Heuston - Cork. It had earlier worked the 1220 Cork - Heuston.
Monday 23rd January 2017:
Photos of 216 working the 0920 Cork - Heuston, 1300 Heuston - Cork and 1620 Cork - Heuston are the main themes of the day.
Tuesday 24th January 2017:
Photos from around the Cabra area seeing some of the evening peak Phoenix Park Tunnel services, plus photos from Ashtown, Broombridge, Drumcondra, Park West and Heuston.
Wednesday 25th January 2017:
A few more photos of 216 working the Cork line passenger services.
Thursday 26th January 2017:
President Michael D. Higgins travelled by train from Dublin Heuston to Cork Kent to attend functions in the City.
