- Loughmore.
- Templemore.
Monday 13th March 2017:
A few pictures from Portlaoise, Ballybrophy and Limerick with the aim of heading to Birdhill to photograph a Ballast Train which should have been stabled there. It wasn't! Looks like it dropped its stone and headed back to Limerick Jct. instead of stabling. The ever elusive perway train!
Tuesday 14th March 2017:
A ramble around Portlaoise and Portarlington at lunchtime produced some better luck with perway trains!.
- Inspection Car 723 heading to Ballybrophy.
- Track Recording Car 700 heading from Mallow to Heuston.
- Ultra rare passenger loco 223 on a MKIV set.
- HOBS and Spoil trains at Portarlington.
- 22001 being reformed at Laois Depot into its correct formation.
Wednesday 15th March 2017:
While on the morning commute I got some pictures at Nenagh and Ballybrophy.
Thursday 16th March 2017:
The morning has a few photos from Nenagh, while later in the day I took an evening ramble from Portlaoise to Limerick, via Galway and Ennis.
Some good loadings on the Western Rail Corridor. The 1840 Galway - Ennis (22003) had 43 passengers after Athenry. Many of these connected off the 1630 Heuston Galway. 31 of these alighted in Ennis, with 6 remaining in board for the 77 minute wait for the 2110 Ennis Limerick. The reason for the long wait is due to the long single line section between Limerick and Ennis of 24 miles and two trains from Limerick at 1945 (to Galway) and 2025 (to Ennis).
The 1800 Limerick Galway was crossed at Gort formed of a single 2800 Class unit. It was full and standing room only with all four vestibules having standing and sitting passengers in them.
Meanwhile for the 77 minute wait at Ennis I took a walk down the town to check out a certain railway themed pub.
Saturday 19th March 2017:

Sunday 19th March 2017:
Features pictures from Connolly and Clonsilla. Highlights being the transfer of 22002 + 22001 + 22062 from Laois Depot to Connolly to place 22001 with its experimental in cab signalling equipment to Connolly for further tests.
Tuesday 21st March 2017:
While travelling between Gort and Ennis I stopped off to get some pictures of the afternoon WRC services.
Wednesday 22nd March:
While travelling on the 1525 Heuston - Limerick we paused at Limerick Jct. Direct Curve to allow 2811 + 2812 to enter the station with the 1645 from Limerick.
Saturday 25th March 2017:
22018 passing Lough Owel on Saturday afternoon with the 1100 Sligo - Connolly. Plus three images from Mountdillon Bord na Mona works near Lanesborough.
Sunday 26th March 2017:
While passing through Portumna, I stopped off at a former road bridge over the long closed railway line to Birr.
Tuesday 28th March 2017:
Ballybrophy & Thurles feature in today's round up.
Wednesday 29th March 2017:
A lunch time visit to Clonkeen to see 080 heading from Limerick to Portlaoise with the steel train. Later in the day images from Portlaoise Station and Thurles.
Thursday 30th March 2017:
After 084 had failed at Limerick, 087 was used to haul the errant locomotive back to Inchicore. A timber wagon also required transfer to Inchicore, so it also hitched a lift on the transfer movement.

Due to Engineering Works at Limerick Station between Thursday 2nd and Saturday 4th March there were alterations to the Ennis / Galway & Ballybrophy with bus transfers to/from Limerick. The Ballybrophy service terminated / started at Birdhill and here we see 2809 + 2810 stabled on the loop road at Birdhill. It had earlier worked the 1005 Ballybrophy - Birdhill and would later form the 1724 Birdhill - Ballybrophy. Sat 04.03.17
