July 2019
The July Gallery.
Monday 1st July:
We kick off the July gallery with an extended visit to Limerick Jct. to observe the latest progress on the new platform and see the shunting moves required for the Waterford train to depart the station while the new footbridge is built. Images also come from Portlaoise and Limerick.
Wednesday 3rd July 2019:
Pictures from Clonkeen during lunchtime of the 1300 Heuston - Cork which was 4ICR vice the booked MKIV set.
Thursday 4th July 2019:
Evening time in Dromineer on the shores of Lough Derg.
Friday 5th July 2019:
Today's bunch of pictures come from Nenagh and Ballybrophy in the morning and evening.
Saturday 6th July 2019:
After writing 900 odd words for my second last IRO course, I decided to head out for a drive to clear the head. After ending up in Cloughjordan I headed out to Islandwood to capture the evening branch train from Ballybrophy to Limerick passing in the hands of 2814 + 2813.
Sunday 8th July 2019:
I popped into Askeaton while on the way back from Foynes to see the railway station. For the full collection of images from that visit see the Foynes Branch collection in the "Forgotten Railways" section of the website.
Monday 8th July 2019:
Pictures today come from Ballybrophy and Portlaoise.
Tuesday 9th July 2019:
Just three from today, breakfast on the 0740 Limerck - Heuston , 219 at Brittas outside Thurles with the 1600 Heuston - Cork and 4005 arriving into Thurles on the 1625 Cork - Heuston.
Wednesday 10th July 2019:
The highlight from today was seeing a 2600 work the Birdhill - Limerick Commuter service in place of the usual 2800.
Thursday 11th July 2019:
While changing trains at Limerick Jct. I snapped a few quick photos of the latest progress on the new platform construction work.
Friday 12th July 2019:
Just one image from today of Charlemont on the LUAS Green Line.
Saturday 13th July 2019:
Images from today come from Dublin City Centre of LUAS trams and Heuston Station.
Sunday 14th July 2019:
Back to Dublin today to visit Croke Park for the Tipperary -v- Laois match. Pictures from Thurles, Heuston, Connolly, Croke Park and Dublin City Centre.
Tuesday 16th July 2019:
A quick visit was paid to Heuston this afternoon and I managed to grab a few images of the comings and goings including the Belmond Grand Hibernian while I was there.
Thursday 18th July 2019:
After a period of 49 weeks normality returned to the Nenagh Branch on Thursday 18th July 2019 when the 0630 Limerick - Ballybrophy is once again booked to split at Nenagh with the rear portion forming the 0745 Nenagh - Limerick Commuter service.
Friday 19th July 2019:
Today's batch of images come from Portarlington, Portlaoise, Limerick Jct. and Limerick.

A day trip to Dublin today with images from Ballybrophy, Heuston, Busaras, Connolly and Clontarf Road.

Ballybrophy, Portlaoise, Limerick Jct., Limerick and Millstreet feature in today's round up of pictures.
Saturday 27th July 2019:
While in Killarney for the weekend I took a drive over to Kenmare stopping at some of the scenic sights along the way. Later on the way home a quick detour was made to Quagmire Viaduct and Yellow Quarry to photograph 22023 and 22041 on the Mallow - Tralee services.
Monday 29th July 2019:
Tamper 744 stabled at Limerick was the highlight of the day while I was passing through the station on the way home.
