On Thursday 4th August, the Nenagh Branch reopened after a 12 week closure to relay approx 8 miles of track between Roscrea and Cloughjordan. Other maintenance work was also carried out on the railway with new Ballast being noted in Nenagh station. Prior to reopening, the line speed was also increased between the 17 1/8 & 34 1/4 mileposts with several sections increased from 30mph to 40 or 50mph.
