Friday 7th January 2022:
A few photos from a trip to Dublin and Cork while out for Tom Ryan's retirement. That gallery can be viewed here .
Saturday 15th January 2022:
While in Killarney for the weekend, I popped out for a 2600 Class covering for a missing 22000 Class which had been sent to Heuston the previous evening in place of a failed 201 + MKIV set.
Wednesday 19th January 2022:
While out for a walk, the 1655 Limerick - Ballybrophy arrived into Nenagh Station while I was crossing the Tyone Road Bridge.
Friday 21st January 2022:
5ICR 22039 unusually spent three days working Connolly Intercity and Commuter services reaching Sligo, Newry and Rosslare Europort. Rosslare based driver Chunkrail was on hand to record a few images for the website.
Tuesday 25th January 2022:
I had to make a quick visit to Limerick, so popped into the station to see some of the comings and goings.
Saturday 29th January 2021:
Photos from the Killarney area on Saturday morning showing 2614 + 2617 covering one of the ICR diagrams after 22023 had failed the previous day in Killarney. The set had been repaired overnight and was awaiting a driver to bring it to Mallow to re enter service. Later in the morning I also photographed 22019 at Minish.
Sunday 30th January 2022:
Just one from today with a 4 car 2600 leaving Killarney with the 1450 Cork - Tralee.
22039 was sent to Connolly on Wednesday 19th January for seat foam replacement, a number of sets didn't get this item done when in for the refresh the first time. However, a set failure later that day saw it pressed into service on Connolly services, replacing the defective 4ICR set! Apart from occasional Belfast workings, the use of 5ICR sets on the Connolly services are extremely rare.
On the Wednesday the set worked the 1500 Connolly - Sligo & 1905 return.
The following day (Thursday) saw it work suburban services, these being the:
* 0640 Connolly - Maynooth
* 0745 Maynooth - Connolly
* Empty to Drogheda
* 0940 Drogheda - Pearse
* 1653 Pearse - Drogheda
* 1802 Drogheda - Pearse
* 1923 Pearse - Drogheda
* 0050 Drogheda - Dundalk
On the Friday morning it worked empty to Newry to form the 0630 Newry - Connolly & 0933 Connolly - Rosslare Europort. The return working, 1255 Rosslare Europort - Connolly is seen before departure from the port station. On arrival at Connolly the train was removed from service for the seat foam replacement to start on Monday. Once work on this set is complete, all 63 sets will have been through the program.
