Prior to Belmond Grand Hibernian kicking off their new operating season they run a staff appreciation trip from Heuston to Thurles for Iarnrod Eireann staff. This serves a purpose in saying a thank you to the staff involved in operation of the train and also allows Belmond Grand Hibernian to use the IE staff as guinea pigs in serving meals and beverages to customers in a live environment.

Due to the seasonal nature of the operation, staff turnover for Belmond is high so this serves an excellent form of staff training and allows Belmond to iron out any issues which may occur.

In it's fourth year of operation, today I was invited to attend the trip to Thurles and we were thoroughly looked after. Best of luck to all the Belmond Staff for the 2019 season.
